Reunion

Jim and I just spent the week in Pennsylvania visiting friends, family and spending some time together. As always, it was good to get away. We spent time with Jim's extended family to celebrate his grandparents' 65th wedding anniversary. I have to say, that is pretty awesome! It was good to see everyone, but hard too. I never realized how difficult it can be to take family photos when you know the one person who you want there so badly isn't. Or realizing the disappointment with not being able to share the joy of watching all the new babies playing together. We were so excited to see everyone and bring our new little bundle with us. Our expecations are different now. Rather than sharing in that joy, we worked at getting through the weekend without too many breakdowns. I believe we accomplished that goal and then some. Connor's memory lived on. We were able to see family and enjoy the time together. We were even able to get away and do some hiking in Southwestern PA and take Connor with us!

  1. Sounds nice if a little hard. This kind of loss seems like something that could tear you apart or bring you closer and it sounds like you are doing well with it together.
